Abstract

Infrared imagery provides technicians with the ability to forecast failure, and replace faulty parts before accidents occur. Electrical shorts in all electrical systems, poor design, poor workmanship, and faulty components can be located long before they become a serious problem. Bad connections and overload situations are readily identified.

Infrared Cameras can be used to protect officers while searching for and pursuing suspects, detect prowlers, reveal traffic investigation evidence, spot lost and stranded boaters and accident victims, navigate difficult waterways, respond to natural and man-made disasters, provide day/night visual surveillance, and monitor perimeters to prevent intrusion. Orion-PANTHIR II Embeddable Camera Electronics System provides the foundation of the camera module. The Orion-PANTHIR II is comprised of three primary printed circuit board assemblies (each 2 inches x 2 inches). The Orion-PANTHIR II architecture includes an FPA-specific FPA Support Electronic PCB, a universal Camera Controller PCB and a universal Camera Support Electronic PCB.
